  1. DHS Bulldog Announcements Wednesday, August 21, 2019

  2. ATHLETE OF THE WEEK • For the week of August 19-23, our athlete of the week is Tani Evans. • Tani pitched a complete game against Luella on Monday evening, propelling the Lady Bulldogs Softball team to victory by striking out 10 batters in seven innings. • Way to go Tani!

  3. GAME TIME • The freshman volleyball will face off against Eagle’s Landing on Wednesday, 8/21, at ELHS. Game time is 5:15 PM. • The JV & freshman football teams will play Woodland at 6:00 PM on Thursday, 8/22. The freshman will travel to Woodland, while JV will host the Wolfpack. • The varsity softball team will host Ola on Thursday, 8/22, 5:55 PM. • Both the JV & varsity volleyball teams will travel to Strong Rock for games on Thursday, 8/22 at 5:15 PM.

  4. The FCCLA will have a meeting in Mrs. Winters room 406 from 3:20-4:00 PM on Wednesday, August 21.

  5. SERVANTS OF THE HEART • For all students who love volunteering and helping others, we have THE club just for you. The DHS Simply Serving Club interest meeting will be held in room 109 on Thursday, August 22, at 3:30 PM. Hope to see you there!

  6. WESTWARD BOUND • The University of West Georgia will conduct a small group visit with interested students on Thursday, August 22, during IF. • Students who are interested in attending or learning more about UWG can sign up in the counseling office.

  7. NATIONAL BETA CLUB • The National Beta Club will hold its interest meeting on Thursday, August 22, at 3:30 pm in room 320. • Students who have an numeric average of 90 or higher are encouraged to attend.

  8. DRAMA CLUB • The time has come to vote! • Please stop by room 308 starting Thursday, August 22, to vote for Mr. and Mrs. Drama.

  9. SENIOR NIGHT • All senior students and parents are invited to join us at the senior parent night on Thursday, August 22, at 6pm in the DHS gym. • Senior activities, dues, HOPE, FAFSA, scholarships, college and career readiness plus much more will be discussed. • You don’t want to miss it.

  10. FLAG FOOTBALL TRYOUTS • Flag football tryouts have been extended to accommodate those who are awaiting physicals. The final day to submit physicals will be Friday, August 23. • The extended tryout day will be Monday, August 26, with final rosters will be posted on Tuesday, 8/27/19.

  11. YOUTH LEADERSHIP HENRY • Attention Sophomores: If you are interested in participating in Youth Leadership Henry, a countywide leadership program interacting with community leaders, please pick up an application in the counseling center. The application deadline is August 28.  See Ms. Pruitt for further details.

  12. JUNIOR & SENIOR PROM • The junior and senior prom will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Four Seasons Atlanta. • Prom tickets are now on sale and can be purchased for $100 each until August 31. Prices will increase thereafter. • Tickets can be bought online at myschoolbucks.com. They may also be purchased from Ms. Johnson in room 224 using cash, check or money order.

  13. A HELPING HAND • Peer tutoring assistance is available in the media center. If you would like a helping hand, please see Bryce McAllister during 1st & 2nd Block or Michael Idaewor during 3rd block.

  14. TENNIS ANYONE? • Dutchtown Tennis will hold a player/parent interest meeting on Monday, August 26, at 7:00 PM in room 116.

  15. BOOK CLUB • The Book Club will meet on Monday and Tuesday, August 26 & 27, from 3:30 to 4:15 PM. • Please bring the book that you are currently reading or check out a book before the meeting.

  16. HOSA • The first HOSA meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 27, in room 811 at 3:30 PM.

  17. GET READY TO RHUMBA • If you are interested in participating in the annual 2019 Latin dance, please come to room 212 at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, August 27, to audition.

  18. WRESTLING • Dutchtown wrestling is having a wrestler/parent interest meeting on Tuesday, August 27, at 7:00 PM in room 116.

  19. DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKE MIKE? • If you are interested in playing basketball, the boys’ basketball team will have tryouts on Wednesday and Thursday, August 28 and 29, from 4pm – 6:00 pm. • Only 9th Grade athletes will tryout on Wednesday with all grades coming out on Thursday. • In order to try-out, you must have a current physical. • Please see Coach Griffin in room 320 or in the auxiliary gym with any questions.

  20. PICTURE DAY • Cady studios will be on site to take underclassmen photos on Friday, August 30, during 2nd block.

  21. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY • There will be an NHS interest meeting on Thursday, August 29, in room 335 at 3:30 PM. • The newly elected officers are: Nikyah Little – President; Kayla Lopez – Vice President; Kennedi Clemons – Secretary; Gurjot Singh – Treasurer; Joshua Nogal & Christian Nogal – Reporters.

  22. SAVE THE DATE • Georgia Tech will host a NACAC Stem College & Career Fair from 1pm-4pm on Sunday, September 29, at McCamish Pavilion. • Free registration at www.gotomystemfair.com.
