  1. SHADEMASTER IS IT TIME TO CHANGE YOUR ROOF? 10 NOTABLE SIGNS YOU SHOULD LOOK OUT

  2. SHADEMASTER ROOFING Roof is definitely the most important part of the house as it keeps the water out of the establishments. Just as other components of our homes, our roof also needs maintenance. And nobody likes to pay for roof replacement costing $11, 000 on an average, right? So what do you really need to know before changing your roof? According from a shade master, here are 10 notable signs you should check:

  3. SHADEMASTER INTERIOR CHECK Roof inspection should be done at least twice a year – spring and fall. When inspecting your roof, the best place to start with is inside the house. Get your flashlight and let’s head to the attic and check the following: 1. Areas where the roof deck sags. Check for notable structural damage, you might want to have it re- shingled or set up a new roof deck. 2. Check for water damage or signs of leaking. Once water damage or leaking is notable, this means the roof or parts of it may need to be changed or repaired.

  4. SHADEMASTER INTERIOR CHECK 3. Dark spots & trails. Dark spots and trails on the attic may also indicate water damage or leaking. 4. Outside light coming through the roof. If you can see the outside light through your roof, this obviously mean that your roof is not properly sealed and this is the cause of water damage.

  5. SHADEMASTER EXTERIOR CHECK When doing your exterior roof checking, pay attention to damaged flashing, missing or damaged shingles, curling, blistering, buckling, and rotting and algae growth. 5. Inspect your roof for damaged - cracked, torn, bald or missing shingles. You may need to change the shingles if that is the case. 6. Scan the roof for loose material or signs of wearing around chimneys, vents, pipes or other penetrations. These may cause the water damage.

  6. SHADEMASTER EXTERIOR CHECK Look out for excessive amount of shingle granules (which appears like large grains of sand) in the gutters. This is a sign that your shingles had worn off. 8. Check for signs of moisture, rot or mold. Those wet spots are caused by water due to your faulty shingles. Mold, fungi and bacteria can grow within 24 to 48 hours which are caused by water-related problems.

  7. SHADEMASTER EXTERIOR CHECK 9. Examine your drainage; make sure gutters and downspouts are securely attached. Make sure all drains are open and allow water to exit, and all gutters and downspouts are free of debris which block the water to flow. 10. Check that all bath, kitchen and dryer vents go entirely outside of your home. Make sure that those don’t just go into the attic space.

  8. SHADEMASTER THESE MAY JUST A FEW OF THE THINGS YOU HAVE TO CHECK BEFORE CONSIDERING A ROOF REPLACEMENT, BUT THESE ARE ALSO ENOUGH REASONS TO DO SO. WHILE OTHERS MIGHT STILL WANT TO DIY THEIR ROOF REPLACEMENT, I SUGGEST THAT YOU SHOULDN’T. ASK FOR A HELP FROM A SHADE MASTER – THE ONE THAT COULD HELP YOU FIGURE OUT THESE MATTER. REMEMBER, “PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.” – THAT’S WHY YOU NEED TO ADDRESS YOUR ROOFING ISSUES BEFORE IT DAMAGE THE ENTIRE HOME AS WELL.
