  12. Private Career Colleges • Occupational training offered by a business • Less stringent admission requirements but tuition maybe more expensive • Nova Scotia has over 40 registered private colleges

  14. Students with Disabilities • May qualify for post-secondary special grants and/or services: tutoring, note taking, assistive technology, computers, etc. • Indicate on applications and student loan forms • Verification required

University Requirements: Halifax • Bachelor of Arts – English plus 4 academic grade 12 courses • Bachelor of Science – English, Pre-Calculus, 2 grade 12 Sciences plus 1 grade 12 academic course • Bachelor of Commerce – English, Mathematics (in some cases, Pre-Calculus) plus 3 other academic courses strive for excellence

University Requirements: Halifax • Bachelor of Engineering – English, Pre-Calculus, Chemistry, Physics plus 1 other academic course • Bachelor of Computer Science – English, Pre-Calculus plus 3 other academic courses • Bachelor of Nursing – English, Math, Chemistry, Biology plus 1 other academic courses • Please check with institution regarding which academic classes will be accepted (FVP 12).
