  2. About the SPCA • The SPCA was founded in Fresno, California in 1946 • Name was changed to The Central California Society For The Prevention of Cruelty To Animals in 1958

  3. More about the SPCA • Since 1946, The CC/SPCA has made a conscience effort to protect and care for animals. • For more than 40 years, the shelter has remained faithful to it’s commitment and has found loving homes for thousands of dogs and cats.

  4. Foster Program Pet Facilitated Therapy Licensing Dept. Thrift Shop Decorators Education Program Photographers Surgery Annex Kennel Helper Puppy & Cattery Greeter Mobile Adoption Unit Public Service & Outreach Volunteering Programs

  5. Job Duties • Greeter: Greet people in main lobby, advise about different areas in shelter, & answer general questions. • Special Events: Attend and help set up for special events • Thrift Shop: Routine work and cleaning as needed

  6. Job Duties • Foster Program: Caring & providing for animal until animal returns to shelter to go up for adoption. • Pet Facilitated Therapy: Going out to facilities w/ animals from shelter • Licensing Dept: Helping with paperwork and filing

  7. Job Duties • Mobile Adoption Unit: Attend adoption events, clean cages, feed & water, & bring animals to potential adopters. • Kennel Helper: Aid in feeding, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, & other tasks as needed.

  8. Job Duties • Puppy & Cattery: Give animals food & water, clean cages, unfold newspapers, bathe and groom, & other routine work as needed • Photographer: Take pictures of animals & posting them on internet

  9. Job Duties • Education Dept: Computer work, filing, re-shelve books, set up for tours, & set up monthly informational boards. • Public Service/Outreach: Handing out info to public & setting up and tearing down booths/displays. • Decorators: Decorate showcases for different holidays
