Timeline 1940 – Nelson Paint Company is founded. 1965-69 – The Nelspot 707 is manufactured. 1972 – The second paintball marker is made, the Daisy Splotch Maker. 1976-77 – Charles Gaines, Hayes Noel, and Bob Gurnseycome up with the survival game idea. 1981 – They finally play the game in New Hampshire. 1982 – The first commercial paintball field opens. 1983-84 – First full air tank is made, not 12 gram cartridges. 1992-93 – Paintball becomes a sport. 2000 – Tippmann introduces the first “flatline” barrel.
