  2. Today’s Agenda • Review of past three days! It is a race! • Read and Analyze the opinions of the different groups discussing a new government. • You will be reading primary sources. • You will be analyzing statistics on the new states’ make up. • You will develop a basic understanding of the Federalists and Anti-federalists points of view.

  3. Rules… • You can only write one answer for your team. • First group done…with correct answers gets… • Questions? • Ready. Set. Begin.

Words you may struggle with… • Illiterate(unable to read or write) • Leviathan(biblical sea monster) • Shay’s Rebellion (farmers in Massachusetts protest against high taxes…turns violent when they shut down the debt courts…who will settle it?) • anarchy (absence of government) • tyranny (a government in which absolute power is vested in a single ruler) • monarchy (government where a king or queen has absolute power) • Oligarchic(small group of elites that control a government)

  9. FINAL QUESTIONS: In groups you will… • Describe the types of people that liked the Constitution. • Describe the types of people that disliked the Constitution. • Then write 2 quotes an Anti-Federalist would say and 2 quotes a Federalist would say.
