  2. EXAMPLE PARAGRAPH: 1-2-3-2-3-1 State your purpose in the topic Sentence. The major detail or supporting idea. The minor detail or explanation that comes right after the supporting idea. (4) POWER: Concrete detail – an example, quotation, or statistic that further illustrates the supporting idea. Repeat steps 2 and 3 (and 4), giving 3 supporting details followed by an example. Back to stating your purpose in the closing sentence.

  3. EXAMPLE PARAGRAPH: 1-2-3-2-3-1 We have many important freedoms in Canada. (2) First, we have the freedom to speak out on any issue. (3) In fact, this freedom is guaranteed to us by the The Charter of Rights. (2) A second freedom we have is to be able to practice whatever religion we choose. (3) For example, many of the first colonists came to Canada because they did not have this right.(2) As well, all males and females are given the right to an education. (3) All over Canada boys and girls are in school and are not denied this right because of their gender. (1) Finally, because of these freedoms, Canada is a better place to live.

( ) Another thing is definitely his awful room. ( ) You can tell he doesn't ever get off his lazy rear end to clean up. ( ) For example, his bed is never made. ( ) When he tries to make it look made, he just throws the covers over all the clothes and bike parts that are already on the bed. ( ) My mother puts his clean clothes on his dresser to be put away.
