  2. What is Fungus Fungi are everywhere in nature and in the world in general. They live and normally sprout in the in dead things, leavings(the poop) and the most inconvenient of areas. Mushrooms, moss, ect, these things don’t effect your body negatively(normally) but they do kill plants and can get some animals sick.

  3. The potato Fungus • This Particular Fungi is called “Blight” and its fucked up. It can be transmitted through touch and opening in the plant. It can also be transferred through soil to the seed, making it impossible for the plant to sprout or having It sprout with its signature black dots and having the vegetable die. Black dots on the side of the Potato, inner discoloration and any other symptoms that might look rotten are probably a case of blight on the vegetable.

Impact & societies reaction • The Great Famine was a period of mass starvation in Ireland due to the most significant crop in Ireland in the eighteen hundreds (more specifically 1845-1852) being infected with a fungi known as Blight. These fungi caused mass starvation & a 25% decrease in population in Ireland either by death or by immigration from the country 1 million by death & another million by Immigration. This also caused America in particulars’, population to increase. America was not inflamed by what was occurring in Ireland despite the fact that it required more mouths for them to feed essentially because the Irish would come to America, usually on the verge of starving to death. The Irish that even immigrated to America suffered from poverty & inevitably starved to death over there due to the mass racism going around in American culture the Blacks & the Irish were at the bottom of everything in America & likewise were not cared for at all.

  9. How to prevent this disease(historic) You literally had to clear out the clean soil & stick it in a whole new place. Any & all good potatoes had to be removed from the infected patches early & placed in the new patches.

  10. How to prevent this disease(modern) You need a fungicide known as Daconil the most frequently recommended of the product which is made available in the state of Ohio.
