  1. nu_e Study Jaewon Park University of Rochester TP Physics Study Meeting Dec 12, 2008

  2. Overview • NuMI beam contains ~1% nu_e. • nu_e event rate is small but nu_e event (ne n  e+p) is clean and distinctive. • Neutrino flux and energy spectrum can be measured using nu_e scattering. • Main background is pi0+p event where one of gamma is not reconstructed. • To separate the electron track from other track is main job in this study. • Previous study was based on full minerva detector. • Tried to repeat it with TP geometry (10Tracker+10Ecal)

  3. Ratio of Track Thickness • Most of electron track in TP enter in ECal. Compare average number of strips used in first (2/3) part of the track compared to the last (1/3) proton gamma proton gamma TP detector

  4. Primary Vertex to Track Distance • The distance is bigger than TP detector size • It looks that it has bug on the calculation. True pv to track Reco pv to track Full Minerva Full Minerva True pv to track Reco pv to track TP TP

  5. Pt imbalance • Pt was calculated from true MC momentum. • Energy (momentum) resolution will spread Pt distribution. Nu_e Cut: Pt<250MeV/c Nu_mu
