  1. Checklist: • New speaker , new line. • Punctuation to hold up the ’99’ speech mark. (before the ’99’) • Comma before ’99’ if sentence not finished. • Split up speech with commas and details about who, and how, it’s spoken. • Bring out the characters with actions, gestures and how they speak. • Example: • Han relaxed back in his chair, wary that Greedo was a • dangerous adversary. • “So, Han Solo, you have crept out of the shadows – you • must be feeling brave,” Greedo hissed through his • reptilian lips. • “I’ve got nothing to fear Greedo - you should know me by • now,” the freighter captain responded, narrowing his eyes • to focus on Greedo’s next move. • “You owe many credits to the boss,” the alien gurgled, “but if • you give them to me, I’ll forget I ever saw you.” • Han tutted, shaking his head in mock disapproval. • “What would the boss say if he heard that,” Han answered • calmly, “he’d have you hunted down for sure.” • Greedo rocked in his seat, making a strange gargling sound in his throat • – obviously the alien’s attempt at a laugh. • “I’d be more concerned for yourself right now Mr Solo,” he spat, taking • the laser pistol from his holster and waving it lazily at Han. • “Looks like me and you just aren’t gonna get along,” Han smirked, • realising he would have to think of a clever response, and quickly. Homework – Friday 10th October 2014 Task: to write a conversation between Han and the criminal alien, Greedo. A good paragraph is expected. Purpose: To show your speech punctuation skills, and create an engaging scene in the story showing Han’s character. If you’ve watched this scene in Star Wars, you’ll know that Greedo has been told by their big boss, Jabba, to remind Han he owes money to Jabba. However, Greedo, being a criminal, wants the money for himself. You can use this story, or make up your own conversation. Bring out the characters personalities using their responses and actions.
