  2. Impact of CDSG Adult Drug Services Young People Drug & Alcohol Services Alcohol Services AIM: Bring NDTMS fields/reference items in line with NHS Data Dictionary Codes and remove ‘meaningless blanks’

  3. Adult Drug Services Changes and additions being made to:- Consent statements Interventions/Modalities Referral Sources Codes for Employment Status Sexuality Codes renamed Previous Hep B infected codes redefined Hepatitis C status redefined

  4. Adult Drug Services Consent Statements Yes the person has consented No the person has not consented

  5. Adult Drug Services Interventions/Modalities All Existing Adult (Drug) Interventions remain including existing Tier 2 interventions. Changes to:- Code 1 Inpatient Treatment Codes 87, 88, 89 Code 87: Inpatient Treatment Assessment Only Code 88: Inpatient Treatment Stabilisation Code 89: Inpatient Treatment Detoxification

Adult Drug Services Interventions/Modalities Code 4 Structured Psychosocial Intervention Codes 81-86 Code 81: Behavioural couples therapy Code 82: Family Therapy Code 83: Formal psychosocial interventions (drug specific) including contingency management Code 84: Psychosocial intervention to address common mental disorders Code 85: Other formal psychosocial therapy (e.g. community reinforcement approach or social behaviour network therapy) Code 86: Structured psychosocial therapy - other

  7. Adult Drug Services Referral Source Codes All existing codes remain with one addition and one expanded code for criminal justice referrals:- Code 5 Arrest Referral/DIP Codes 63,64,65 Code 63: Arrest Referral Code 64: DIP Code 65: Criminal Justice Other New Code 53 Job Centre Plus

Adult Drug Services Employment Status 2 new codes, explicit definition/expansion of existing codes Code 1: Regular Employment – same Code 2: Pupil/Student – same Code 5: Other – same Code 6: Not known – same Code 3: Economically Inactive Codes: 9,10,11 Code 9: Long-term sick or disabled, those who are receiving incapacity benefits, income support or both. Code 10: Homemaker looking after the family or home and who are not working or actively seeking work. Code 11: Retired from work.

  9. Adult Drug Services Employment Status Code 4: Unemployed Codes: 12,13,14 Code 12: Unemployed and seeking work. Code 13: Not receiving benefits. Code 14: Unpaid voluntary work. Code 15: New code Retired from Paid Work Code Z: New code Not Stated

  10. Adult Drug Services Sexuality Code 2 codes renamed: Code G: PreviouslyGay now Homosexual Code Z: Previously Not Disclosed now Not Recorded

  11. Adult Drug Services Previously Hepatitis B Infected 2 codes redefined Yes has had a previous Hepatitis B infection diagnosed No has never had a previous Hepatitis B infection diagnosed

  12. Adult Drug Services Hepatitis C Positive 2 codes redefined Yes is Hepatitis C positive No is not Hepatitis C positive

  13. Adult Alcohol Services Changes and additions being made to:- Consent statements (as per Adult Drug) Referral Sources New AUDIT score New Smoking Status New Treatment Goal New Drinking Days more than binge limit

  14. Adult Alcohol Services Referral Sources Code 5 Arrest Referral/DIP Codes 63,64,65 Code 63: Arrest Referral Code 64: DIP Code 65: Criminal Justice Other New Code 56: Employer New Code 57: ATR (Alcohol Treatment Requirement) New Code 58: Peer i.e. other service user

  15. Adult Alcohol Services AUDIT Score New field to record AUDIT assessments The permissible values are Numerical values 0-40 Smoking Status New field Code N: Never Smoked Code P: Previously Smoked Code C: Currently Smoking

  16. Adult Alcohol Services Treatment Goal New field Code 1: Abstinence Code 2: Reduced Controlled Use Code U: Unknown Drinking Days more than binge limit New field to record the number of days when clients drink over the binge limit (?) The permissable values are Numerical values 0-28

Young People Services Changes, additions and new fields:- Consent statements (as per Adult Drug) Referral Sources Accommodation Need New CLA Location New YP registered with GP (Start) New YP has CAF (Start) New YP in contact with learning difficulty services (Start & End) New YP Sexually active (Start & End) YP Education Status (Start)

  19. Young People Services Accommodation Need Removal of Codes 21 and 30 – CLA living in care and CLA out of LA. These are replaced with Code 32: Child Looked After Definition is now in New Field CLA Location…………..

Young People Services CLA Location New field to record more detail about CLAs Code 1:CLA Living in care Code 2:CLA living in childrens home Code 3: CLA living in residential school Code 4: CLA living in educational behavioural unit Code 5:CLA living in secure childrens home Code 6:CLA living out of borough Code 7: CLA placed out of borough Code 8:CLA living independently in settled accommodation Code 9:CLA living independently in unsettled accommodation Code 10: CLA living in supported housing Code 11: CLA with Kin Carers

  23. Adult & Young People Services Merge: GP & Specialist = Community Prescribing? New: Other Prescribing Agency? May be introduced – discussions ongoing.

  24. Core Dataset Training will be available in March 2010 and on our www.NEPHO.org.uk website as soon as documentation is finalised
