  3. Verses 1-3 Set The Stage The Revelation - the unveiling (1)we should understand the message “Signified These Things” (1)interpret figuratively unless literal is required by context Must Shortly Take Place (1, 3)not 2,000 years in future

  4. Key Reasons Chapters 6-11 Refer to the Destruction of Jerusalem 1:1,3 – “Must shortly take place” (see also 22:6) 2:9-10; 3:9-10 – False Jews and the tribulation 6:9-11 – How long until You avenge our blood? (see Matt. 23:33-39, Luke 21:22-24)

  5. Key Reasons Chapters 6-11 Refer to the Destruction of Jerusalem 7:3,14 – “great tribulation” & sealing of the saints (see Mt. 24:21,29; Lk. 21:20-22) 10:5-7 – The mighty angel; the mystery is finished (see Dan. 12:4-7)
