  6. CASE TO ADMINISTRATION FOR CHANGE • Obtain information from company manufacturing the Sterrad unit • Complete the Capital Budget forms to accounting and COO for approval • Write up the justification for the unit • Submit a Business Case to go to the DOCHS Board of Directors for final approval

  7. WHY HYDROGEN PEROXIDE PLASMA? • No SCAQMD Fees • No personnel monitoring • No annual source testing • No ETO cylinder rentals • Ease of use • 2-3 hour turn around time for good

  8. SUCCESS MEASURES • There will be a positive impact on savings in the operations budget • Safety of the associates in Central Service using this unit • Safety of the patients, nurses and physicians using the processed items from the unit

  9. WHERE ARE WE NOW? WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE? • Submission of the Major Expenditure Request Form • Write PO and order unit • Set up Planning meetings for the installation • Education of Associates

  10. REMEMBER… • In California, all ETO records (load information, associate monitoring, source testing, etc.) must be maintained for 30 years. • This is per Title 8
