  1. Law Enforcement VAWA Report And Performance Reports

  2. Reports • Really? Paperwork? Don’t we have enough?

  3. Required Reports • All programs receiving Violence Against Women (VW) funds have to complete a VW Annual Report and Performance Reports (Bi-Annual).

  4. Violence Against Women (VW) Annual Report • VW Annual Report covers: January 1, 2011 - December 31, 2011 • Due Date: February 15, 2012

  5. VW Annual ReportGeneral Info Sec. AI - Pg 1&2: • Date of Report: Date you complete it • Year: 2011 • “Subgrantee” refers to your agency/program. • Subgrant #s – The TWO contract numbers for VW for the calendar year (VW-11-_ _ and VW-12-_ _) • Type of funded organization – check all that apply • Point of contact - • Tribal Populations – Answer Yes or No (VW funds specifically for this purpose)

  6. VW Annual ReportGeneral Information Pg 2: • Percentage of VW program grant funds are directed to: • Sexual Assault (SA) • Domestic Violence (DV) – including dating violence • Stalking • Percentages add up to 100%

  7. VW Annual ReportA2. Staff Information Pg 3 • Report the number of Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) with VW funds • You can use increments • Report in decimals and not percentages (i.e. .25 rather than 25%)

  8. VW Annual ReportB. Purpose Areas Pg 4 • check all of the purpose areas that apply to your VW funds • At least one of these should apply for you to receive VW funds • DARTs/SARTs/Crime Units – 2nd one down.

  12. VW Annual ReportC4. Products Pg 13 • Complete ONLY if VW funds were used to develop, substantially revise or distribute products. • Brochures, Manuals, Training Curricula, Training Materials • Include: The number created, title, audience, number distributed and languages included.

  17. VW Annual ReportE1. CJ System - LE • The first question deals with AGENCY-wide statistics • The remaining questions report ONLY VW statistics – NOT agency statistics.

Example of Agency vs. VW • Example: • All calls that came in for the entire agency (VW funded and all other officers): 10 Domestic; 6 Sexual Assault; 2 Stalking. • Count all those numbers on first question. • From that point on, it’s important to know how many out of the 10 DV, 6 SA and 2 Stalking were responded to using VW funds. Those are the statistics we are collecting.

  19. VW Annual reportMandatory Narratives • Section F • Page 40 • #60 and #61 MUST be answered. • It can be just a paragraph – does not have to be a novel.

  20. VW Annual Report Summary • Dates that are Important: Feb. 15th • If you have questions or problems entering information, don’t waste time – we know you are busy. Call us. • Is there a good thing about this report? YES….we based our Performance Reports off this, so the statistics you are collecting are the ones we ask for! 

  22. Performance Reports • Page 1….. • Don’t forget to mark the box as to which reporting period you are submitting. Reporting PeriodsDue Dates“X” July 1, 2011 – December 31, 2011 Feb. 15th January 1, 2012-June 30, 2012 Aug. 15th

  23. Performance ReportPage 1: • Program: Who is receiving the grant funds? • Agency: What agency oversees? (not applicable to all) • City: Use the program’s main office location • ProgramDirector: The name of the person responsible for the program • ReportPreparedBy: Who put this lovely work together? Not just the person who signed. We pay tribute to those doing the work….. • Preparer’s Telephone/Email: ….however, we will then call you with questions.

  24. Performance ReportPage 1: • Technical Assistance – Do you need help? This is your chance to let us know. • If you mark “Yes” please be specific in what you would like help with so we can assist you the best way we can. • If you mark “No” don’t hesitate to call us if you need help later.

  25. Performance Reports • Narrative Sections: • These can just be a paragraph. We don’t need novels.

  26. Performance Reports • Media, Contacts, Presentations & Training Section: • This must be completed. If none put in 0s. • These are only for the current reporting period and only dealing with violence against women crimes.

  27. Performance Reports • Law Enforcement Section: • Table 1 • Overall Agency Statistics • Table 2 • VW Funded Statistics

Performance Report • Example: • Officer All Crime responds to 10 domestic calls and takes 4 reports, and Officer VW responds to 20 domestic calls and takes 10 reports. • Under Table 1: 30 calls for assistance under DV and 14 reports under DV. • Under Table 2: 20 calls for assistance under DV and 10 reports under DV.
