  16. GUESTROOM 20X • HFTP announced a new name for its innovative model hotel room exhibit. GUESTROOM 2010 is now G2X (GUESTROOM 20X). • HFTP launched GUESTROOM 2010, the guestroom of the future, at HITEC 2006. • GUESTROOM 2010 has been showcased in the New York Hotel Show for the past 2 years.

Certification • Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) & Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) applicants must pass a 4 hour exam covering a wide range of accounting and technology principles • To qualify to take the exam, an applicant must earn a minimum of 100 points, awarded for evidence of an applicant’s education, industry experience and/or HFTP or AH&LA membership • Once certification has been awarded, designees must complete maintenance which includes continuing education hours

HFTP does not do advocacy work on behalf of specific products and services, or require its members to purchase continuing education from specific organizations to join the association. Because HFTP’s primary focus is education and providing resources for finance and technology, membership is open to the entire industry.
