  3. For Grade Levels 10-12 • This is a science based UC “G” college preparatory elective • Meets the 10 credits WUHSD Practical Arts Requirement

  4. Design and Exploration Design and model your own car- the car of the future!

  5. The Class is Project Based. The following are some current projects to be a part of: SOLAR PANEL CHARGING STATION FOR ELECTRIC CARS ALL-ELECTRIC -EVW

  6. Each Student Achieves Industry Recognized Basic Mechanical Safety Certification

  7. The World of Engineering From the Inside … Out! Learning outside the classroom- Field Trips to the Toyota Transportation Museum in Torrance and the Petersen Auto Museum in Downtown Los Angeles.

Automotive Engineering Points • Full-Year Advanced Elective (10-12 grd.) • Engineering projects include an electronic portfolio of your work for career/college choices (No Notebook Checks) • Prior Automotive classes not required but are helpful. Also helpful to be taken with Physics Science Classes • Getting signed up is easy- see your counselor or Mr. Braicov for details.

  9. WUHSD Course Description(As accepted by the UC a-g committee) Automotive Engineering is a college preparatory elective class designed to meet the “G” requirement University of California and California State University System requirements for admission.

  10. Additionally, this course is designed to give students a thorough introduction to the principles of engineering and applied technology, specifically physics as it relates to the automobile. The curriculum of this course is centered on many hands-on, inquiry based, engineering design challenges.

  11. Students will be expected to share project results both electronically and during oral presentations with peers, teachers, and community professionals. Emphasis is placed on the synthesis of concepts and on the problem solving processes essential to success at the college/university level.
