  30. What’s new • VAG: Steering wheel sensor calibration • Golf V-Audi A3 (CAN) • On VAG vehicles equipped by ABS Bosch with ESP, you can use this function to set the steering wheel sensor. Procedures and steps to do is dependent on how the engine is installed: • LONGITUDINAL (as for ex. VW Passat, AUDI A4, etc.) • - TRANSVERSAL (as for ex. VW Golf V, Touran, etc.) • To run the function and finish it successfully, the following steps need to be followed: • - Be sure that front wheels and steering wheel are “in line”: this can be done by moving the car on a flat & levelled place • Stop the vehicle, don’t move the steering, then run the function following all messages displayed by the tool. • Wait until a message of denoting termination of the procedure is shown by the tool

  31. What’s new • VAG: Steering wheel sensor calibration • Golf V-Audi A3 (CAN) • Once the message appears, leave the ABS diagnostic as normal • ( IGNITION OFF as asked by the tool, then IGNITION ON ); • please note that both check lamps ESP and ELECTRIC POWER STEERING will stay ON: the electric steering will work with limited functions. • Run the engine and drive the vehicle whithout exeeding 20Km/H (12 MPH) • move the steering weel once completely to the left • then completely to the right • then to the middle (in line) until the EPS check light switches off • Stop the vehicle and repeat the previous A) B) C) steps; now the Electric Power Steering check lamp will extinguish and the system is fully operational.

  32. What’s new • VAG: Steering wheel sensor calibration • (AUDI A4 - CAN) • To run the function and finish it successfully, the following steps need to be followed: • - Be sure that front wheels and steering wheel are “in line”: this can be done by moving the car on a flat & levelled place • Stop the vehicle, don’t move the steering, then run the function following all messages displayed by the tool. • Wait until a message of denoting termination of the procedure is shown by the tool

  33. What’s new VAG: SERVICE REMINDER RESET (CAN/KWP) This function enables the clearing of the Service Reminder on Golf V M/Y 2004 on, VW Touareg M/Y 2003 on, Passat M/Y 2005 on and Audi A3 M/Y 2003 on. The function is automatically done by the tool, so just select “Service Reset” and run it.

  34. What’s new VAG: “LONG LIFE” SERVICE SETTING ( CAN/KWP) The LONG LIFE SERVICE is an option that is part of SERVICE REMINDER program on VAG vehicles. This option could be set ON or OFF, depending on the car owner choice, and the values in time/distance will be managed in different way. Please bear in mind that the LONG LIFE SERVICE PROGRAM by VAG needs SPECIFIC lubricants, when set ON. The difference between LONG LIFE and Standard is that: If you set as standard, the reminder will appear after each 15000Km (10000Miles)/1Year, while LONG LIFE is set on, all values are doubled. N.B.: -Service Reminder could be reset manually too, but in that way it will be accepted as STANDARD only - Please REMEMBER to use SPECIFIC LUBRICANTS when LONG LIFE is set ON, following VAG SPECS

  35. What’s new VAG: “TRANSPORT” mode (CAN/KWP) To preserve battery’s life and status, this “TRANSPORT MODE” could be activated. In this way, some functions on board are disabled as radio, door locking and courtesy lights inside the car. Using this part of software you can set it ON or OFF. Usually all new vehicles are delivered with this function set ON, and it must be set OFF during the pre-delivering operations as VAG specs.

  36. What’s new VAG: “TRANSPORT” mode (CAN/KWP) HOW TO: RADIO lock/unlock 1. Select RADIO/CD and access the system 2. Go to the ADAPTATIONS/ADJUSTMENT page and choose MANUAL ADJUSTMENT, remembering to fill ALL needed digits in the fields appearing on the screen (introducing zeroes before the needed number to reach the right amount of digits). 3. The Channel number is 99 4. Values are: 0= to unlock or 1= to lock COMFORT ( door locking and light spots lock/unlock) 1. Select DASHBOARD and access the system. 2. same as the Radio system, as well as the points 3 and 4

  37. What’s new VAG: DASHBOARD LANGUAGE SETTING (KWP) (A4,TOUAREG… ) Select DASHBOARD and access the system, then choose ADAPTATIONS/ADJUSTMENTS page. Procedure is automatic: all you need is just to select the desired language and confirm, so the dash will be set as choosen.

  38. What’s new VAG: AIRBAG ECU CODING (CAN) This part of software permits the Airbag’s ECU coding on VAG vehicles with CAN NETWORK. Please take care to ensure that your body is free of electrostatic energies: do that just by touching metal parts well connected to ground. Please note that that setting is possible on new ECUs only, and using a “colour code” found on the original spare part box of the new ECU. Through this “colour code” the settings will be loaded automatically by the tool. N.B.: Please remember to replace all damaged/broken units (or belts) BEFORE !

  39. What’s new VAG: AIRBAG ECU coding (CAN) “how to” Once the procedure is run, the message “PLS TYPE COLOR CODE” will be shown. You can find it on the sticker where spare part number is, composed of 3 digits (letters or numbers). The FIRST ONE is always ZERO, and it must NOT be considered at all. An example: If you have: 1K0909605M 001 color code is 001 – type 01. If you have: 1K0909605M 00C color code is 00C - type 0C. Wait for procedure completion, confirmed by a message shown on the screen by the tool

  40. What’s new • CITROEN: KEY CODING • This function is specific for KEY CODING on PSA (Peugeot/Citroen) vehicles equipped with Body COMPUTER (BSA CAN). It’s really easy to use, but please bear in mind to prepare all things needed to do it, such as: • ALL AVAILABLE & NEW KEYS (MAX 5) • the PIN CODE to access the function, on the KEY CARD, as shown in the picture • below

  41. What’s new CITROEN: KEY CODING To use this function properly, please take care about some steps BEFORE using it: 1) DON’T leave the function until completion 2) All available keys must be coded WARNING: If some of all keys are equipped with DOOR LOCKING REMOTE CONTROL, they will be CODED TOO. To do that, please choose the dedicated function from the systems list. Instead of other systems which don’t permit the re-use of “uncoded” keys, in this system, where there are some “uncoded” keys, just repeat the complete procedure including forgotten keys. The same is also valid for the remote controls.

  42. What’s new NEW PANDA: KEYS & REMOTES Coding This function is specific for KEY CODING on Fiat group vehicles, equipped with Body COMPUTER. It’s easy to do it, just following all steps and messages shown by the tool. Please remember to prepare ALL available and/or new keys (MAX 8), and the card with the access PIN. WARNING: if some key include REMOTE and some don’t, PLEASE PROCEED ANYWAY LIKE ALL KEYS with REMOTE, otherwise ALL the available remotes will be lost ( you’ll have to replace all keys and recode all of them). PLEASE NOTE that the message “ please insert KEY” means INTRODUCE the KEY, and it doesn’t means “ IGNITION ON” !

  43. What’s new • IDEA/CROMA/159: AIRBAG ECU ADAPTATION • In case of Airbag ECU’s replacement on mentioned cars (in case of doubt replacement is suggested anyway), the new ECU needs to be set/coded; through this function. • All you need is to: • Connect all components • Access the diagnostics, then choose “ADJUSTMENT” page. ECU CODING is available there. • Run it and wait for procedure completion, ( a message will shown by the tool)

  44. What’s new FIAT Group: PROXI SERVER Alignment This is a particular feature of CAN network installed on FIAT Group vehicles. The function must be used in cases of new component installation or replacement (connected on the CAN, obviously, like for example the dashboard): the Body computer will recognize and accept the new component as part of the network.

  45. What’s new Ford MONDEO: AIRBAG ECU ADAPTATION In case of ECU replacement or lost configuration data in memory of the Airbag ECU, the adaptation/setup can be done through this function. ALL Mondeo’s have only 6 possible configurations, depending on the model/accessories. Run the function, then choose the right configuration and proceed. That’s all. WARNING ! The check lamp must be OFF once adaptation is done. If not, ( for example, wrong configuration set), you’ll see check lamp BLINKING. Means of BLINKING: FAST= ECU must be adapted SLOW= Wrong configuration Contrarily to other systems, in here the procedure can be repeated. So, in case of wrong configuration, just do it again.

  46. What’s new FORD MONDEO Diesel: Injectors Coding (DELPHI Common Rail) Each injector has a 16 digits code, that describes the “deviation” for the fuel delivery. For this reason, the Engine ECU needs to know exactly what type of injector is installed in each cylinder, and in case of removal or replacement, this association (code/cylinder) must be respected or re-written. So, BEFORE installing injectors, please write down each injector’s code. In case of new injectors, codes are found on the injector’s body or in the documentation inside the injector’s box. WARNING: 1. Please follow carefully all messages shown by the tool: each code will be divided & written in more than one step 2. Once finished, please check if all codes are stored properly: to do that, you can use the “ read injector code” . If something wrong, repeat the procedure

  47. What’s new FORD MONDEO Diesel: Injectors Coding (DELPHI Common Rail) Please remember to check correspondances for each cylinder between injector’s codes and stored codes

  48. What’s new • Renault SCENIC: Airbag ACU3.8 -SETUP • On this type of vehicle, the new ECU must be set according to to the installed airbag units. Practically, the setup consists of activating installed components ( by default, new ECUs have ALL deactivated). To be sure of the previous configuration, we suggest writing down the “actual” configuration from the old ECU, then proceeding to set the new one with same options. • WARNING • This setup must be correct to avoid airbag malfunctions; • due to that, ALL installed units must be ACTIVATED! • The tool will do what the operator asks for, and consequently under the OPERATOR’s RESPONSABILITY. • 2. If the owner of the vehicle asks the disabling of the passenger bag unit ( because child seat) please cover yourself and put a sticker/reminder/note somewhere on the vehicle, then write a document and ask for customer signature ( as per YOUR RECEIPT)

  49. Technical Bullettin Renault CLIO II: Airbag SETUP (NO CAN) Exactly the same like the MEGANE, excluding PASSENGER AIRBAG which has a manual switch (key), so the owner can disable it under his responsability.

  50. Technical Bullettin BMW, DDE 5 2.0L D 150CV: Basic settings Air mass quantity Depending on the component’s condition, age, tipical use & location of the vehicle, the engine ECU will “learn” day by day and will store some values in its memory, which will cause changes in the “basic” strategy of engine management. Through this function, all “learned” values will be reset to the starting point, as of the car were new. This could be necessary in case of some parts replacement, mainly the MAF, because of WRONG LEARNED VALUES. Procedure is AUTOMATIC (no values must be typed). After that, driving the car, the ECU will “learn” again all the needed values, including the correct air mass flow rate.
