  6. Summary and conclusion As BSIT Ladderized student, I have the opportunity to have an exit point after my Second year, Second Semester in College gaining a certificate of graduation for Hardware Servicing. One of the requirement is to undergo On-the-Job Training in order to experience the real world of work to help improve the skills and to succeed in the future workplace. Thus, if ever I cannot continue my college education I will not be considered as drop out in college but have job placement and this is something I am grateful of. This is the most unforgettable and remarkable moment in my life. It is a period when a student has to adjust herself to the nature of On-the-Job Training. We were always kept busy during those days, working in the office, dealing with many people as well as with different clients, office personnel and many others. So, it was not an easy task. Therefore, I realized that every person differ in so many ways. This On-The-Job Training helped me a lot in developing my personality as well as boosts my self-confidence in the workplace. It was very fruitful and enjoyable despite those hardships and problems I have encountered. It really enriched my knowledge and skills. It gives me also strength to face those trials that wait after graduation. This will serve as my stepping-stone to fulfill all my goals in my life.If possible, the trainee should to stay longer because the office activities provide situations for development. I am very happy because I had successfully finished my On-the-Job Training and I really learned a lot. I hope that I could apply what I have learned in the actual performance someday.

  7. Recommendation Based on the On-the-Job Training I underwent, I want to suggest or recommend to all the concerned officials, that if they schedule the On-The-Job Training it should be as early as the semester begins in order for the trainee to finish their training at early period of time. Moreover, students taking up BSIT Ladderized should undertake OJT every exit point to develop professional confidence in every competency that they finish. Students who undergo the On-the-Job Training must have daily list of the activities that they have accomplished, so that they will not be hard up in writing their Narrative Report.I further recommended that the student must be given In-Campus training before they will be sent to off campus training in order for them to prepare themselves for the actual work. Students who are having their On-the-Job Training must behave and act like a real professional. On-the-Job Training is very important because it is one way of widening student’s knowledge through applying the theories that they have learned in school, so that school personnel must give a more convenient time for the students to fully satisfy themselves in their practicum

  8. BRIEF HISTORY The development of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) into its present structure underwent a long process of evolution spanning a century of colorful and significant events in laying the ground work for the physical foundation of the country. The department is considered as old as the Philippine government, its existence dates back to about four (4) centuries at the time of Spanish colonial era. It emerged from its embryonic form in 1565 when the first settlement roads were constructed by forced labor. Fortresses then were connected by improved trails as supply lines and means of communications. As Spain was in its expansion program in the islands, it resorted to a policy of attraction by way of public works construction. In order to pursue their objective the king of Spain designated the Spanish governor general in the country as chief of public work assisted by “Junta Consultiva” through a royal degree in 1867.
