  7. Tutoring Hours Mon -- 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. Tue – 8:00 - 8:45 a.m. Thu – 4:00 – 4:45 p.m. Fri – 8:15 – 8:45 a.m. and 4:00 – 4:30 p.m.

  8. Classroom procedures 1 Be on time, we only have 50 minutes I plan on using every single one of ‘em. Bring supplies daily: Pencil/ pen, paper, binder Sign in in the attendance log Turn in any assignments if they are due in ‘THE TUB’ at the beginning of class

  9. Classroom procedures 2 Grab a calculator, be seated, login and begin working on the DO NOW – there is a time limit Be ready with a paper and a pen/ pencil I dismiss you, the bell doesn’t. Do not get up from your seat until I tell you to do so.

  10. Classroom policies 1 DONTs • ABSOLUTELY NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN CLASS. THEY NEED TO BE TURNED OFF. • Including nut not limited to cellphones, ipods, laptops, and ipads • No food, snacks, or drinks in class except water • No sleeping in class • No foul language

  11. Consequences for not following classroom policies Electronic devices will be confiscated and turned in to the office Food items will be confiscated and discarded. If you refuse to turn them in, I will have security escort you out of the room. Parent contact will be initiated. Academic referral will be turned in. This is the ONLY warning you will receive and you’ve been warned!

  12. Classroom policies 2 • Stuff I write = Stuff you write • Don’t throw away notes. • Do not ask “Is this for a grade?” • Quizzes, tests, homework, and DO NOWs are INDIVIDUAL assignments. • Cheating = ZERO for everyone involved.

  13. Grading Policy Each Six Weeks Classwork / Homework – 40% Quizzes/ Tests – 25% Six Weeks Project – 20% Six Weeks Exam – 15% Semester grade Three Six Weeks – 85% Final Exam – 15%

  14. Retake Policy • You may retake a quiz/ test ONCE if you fail it at the first attempt. • Retakes are within 3 days OUTSIDE of class time. • Higher of the two grades will be recorded unless failure was due to • Improper behavior / cheating • Not studying (you wont be allowed to take a test later just because you did not study for whatever reason) In each of the cases above, the average of the two grades will be recorded.

  15. Absences • You are responsible for making up all the work you missed. • Talk to me before/ after school • If you were absent on a due date, turn in assignment the day you come back to school • No grade penalty if you have an excused absence. • Up to a 70 • if you have an unexcused absence • If you turn in the assignment later than the due date.
