Procedures • Bellwork: When you enter the room, You will get your folder, take your seat, and start Bellwork. • Restrooms: Because class is only 45 minutes long, the hall pass can only be used for emergencies. If you have a medical issue please supply a doctor’s note. • Food and drink: Food and drink are allowed as a privilege, but this privilege may be revoked at any time. Please throw away all trash and clean off your desk with a Clorox wipe. • Submitting work: Please make sure to submit work to the tray designated for your period. Make sure your name is on your folder and your work! • Cellphones: We will use electronic devices at designated times. However, if you are caught with your cellphone out when it should be put up, it will be confiscated.

Practicamos! • I will break you into 5 groups of 5 groups of 6. • Each group will be assigned a level of proficiency, and will give examples in English. • Then the class will say if they think the group is right or wrong and why. • Then we will switch up the proficiency levels and try with an example activity in English.

  28. Bellwork • Talk with someone new about your wonders for this year! • Feel free to be out of your desk! • Please grab a sobretodo sheet from the front table before class starts. Do not start on it.

  29. Procedures reminder • The bell ringing is a procedure to tell you that it is time to begin class. • At the bell, you are to begin your Bellwork. Your Bellwork will be written on the Powerpoint each day. • There should be no talking or moving about during Bellwork, unless that is the activity. • Write in complete sentences. • Write about the assigned subject.

EXPECTATIONS DURING INSTRUCTION • Please give the teacher your full attention. • Do not talk while the teacher is talking. • Be creative with language (try your best!) • Focus on how much you can learn, not how much you can memorize for one day. • We will have group work. • No side-bar conversations during group activities, all group members focused on the task at hand. • You must contribute proportionately to your group.

  31. END OF CLASS DISMISSAL • You are dismissed when the bell rings. • Upon dismissal, you should put your work in the turn in tray for your class period. • Clean-up your work area.

Sobretodo sheet • Use a phone or laptop and go to www.wordreference.com • Make sure the settings are English to Spanish • Begin to look up words, paying attention to whether the translated word is a noun, verb, adjective, etc. (You need adjectives and nouns for this project) • Work your way through your sobretodo sheet

I will announce the winners Monday. • Your Todosobre Proyecto is due next Friday the 23rd. Feel free to work on it this weekend. We will “present” them on Friday, so be prepared.

Future self letter • You’re going to write a letter to your future self. • It must be a page long (in English). • Describe who you think you’ll be by the end of this year (activities you do, habits you have, friends you’re with, etc.) • Write down what you think will have changed about you by the end of this year (new haircut? New habits? New mindset? New significant other? Mo money?) • I will hang onto these and hand them back to you at the end of the school year 
