  2. Homeroom • Tardy policy -- School begins at 8:40 am. Tardy students will serve a 15 minute detention after school. • Absences • Students must have a note if they are absent with date and reason for absence • Absence will be counted as unexcused without a note. This limits student’s time to make-up work • Dress Code

  19. Grading Point System Daily ungraded HW – 3 -5 Graded HW – usually 10 Weekly Quizzes – 10 Lab reports – 10 Tests – 50 Projects – point totals vary Journal – 10 points monthly

  21. Weekly Quiz • Most weeks we will have a quiz. (Usually on Thursday) • It will cover whatever we’re doing that week. • Tests will be announced in advance.

  22. How you can help your child succeed in 6th grade science:Ask them to explain what we are learning in science. Evidence of understanding is more important than rote memorization.Look at their work. Encourage excellence and pride in doing their best.Foster independence and responsibility, but be sure to monitor them.Encourage them to spend time reviewing notes.
