  2. Why an Institute for research? Lack of co-ordination in the research activity and R&D results did not meet the society needs IMPROVE CO-ORDINATION AND APPLICABILITY

  3. General objective Promote a flexible and high academic level research platform for the international economic research

  4. Concrete Objectives • Respond to the demand for the most applied research, coming from both the public and private sectors • Integrate projects linked to institutional and entrepreneur initiatives at the national/regional and European/international level. • Provide an analytical and methodological perspective in accordance with the principles of academic excellence.

  5. Organization Research Centre in economy: • 3 universities • 8 economic areas • 5 departments • 50 researchers(around 30 are from the University of Valencia)

  9. Research in marketing covers all aspects related to commercialisation and market research, but focuses more concretely on three extensive areas of research:  Marketing channels International marketing Consumer satisfaction Marketing

Study and play mathematical tools to problems coming from the capture and usage of funds for business activity Modelling both static and dynamic Economic-financial problems Applying mathematical programming techniques to different types of problems: efficiency studies, tariff fixing, etc. Applying mathematical methods to valuation problems, considering the real options for solving the problem, etc. Matehematical Modelling

  18. Results • El IEI involves around 50 reserchers from the Valencian Universities • It has defined diffferent research areas and created stable research teams • Relevant links with other Universities and intitutions at the national an international level.

Resultados • Half of the funding asigned to the Economic Faculty (45%) is managed by the IEI • The 21% of the research from the whole campus (Law, Economy and Social Sciencies) is managed by the IEI • There are a regular flow of academic output, published papers, and development of new Phd thesis
