  1. Float Equipment SpecificationJune API Standardization Conference

  2. Update • Meeting held at OXY in Houston – May • Split out all testing categories • Pressure, Duration, Rate, Temperature • Define acceptance criteria for duration testing • Maintain pressure below valve – no leakage • Defined calibration requirements • Pressure, rate, temperature, time

  3. Duration Categories

  4. Auto-Fill Equipment

  5. Flow Rate

  6. Pressure Testing Categories

  7. Temperature

  8. Example Category D24 R20 P5 T300

  9. Discussion - 1 Separation of flow rate, pressure, duration and temperature into separate categories Do categories make sense and are they what were expected ? Is the nomenclature acceptable or do we need another way to refer to the categories ?

  10. Discussion - 2 Pressure Testing timing Reduced the time required to increase the pressure in 500 psi increments How long do we hold the final pressure test ? What is considered a successful test ?

  11. Discussion - 3 How to describe that it may not be necessary test all float equipment but may use “type testing” for some sizes. Need some statement in the body of the document to allow for component testing Statement must still require full scale testing of representative equipment to prevent qualification of full line of equipment based only on component testing.

  12. Discussion – 3 (cont.) Do we monogram to size of float equipment Not all sizes would be monogrammed ? i.e. 30” equipment Full testing required to monogram ?

  13. Discussion - 4 NAF TESTING

  14. Future Plans Two additional meetings in Houston before year end Hope to have document ready by Winter meeting (stretch goal)
