Compare and Contrast

If you compare two things you tell how they are alike.

If you contrast two things you tell how they are different.

So, when you compare and contrast, you tell how they are alike and different.

A Venn diagram is a tool that people use to

Help them organize when they are comparing and contrasting two things.

A Venn diagram has two overlapping circles.

Level 3 language arts with ms sheri lesson 5

Where the circles overlap you write about how two things are the same.

In the outside circles you write about how the two things are different.
