  3. KE1: Learning design • What activities would you like your students to be engaged? • External • Internal • How would you like to engage students? VP Year 1 –experiential and integrated learning with animated scenario with embedded activities and resources 3

  4. KE2: Affordances of technologies • What does each technology offer? • Is your choice of technology appropriate and affordable? ClinVP – Virtual World (immersive learning), semantic web technologies (diagnostic feedback) and AI (natural dialogue and interaction) 4

  5. KE3: Nature of subject • How does a student learn the subject? • How do you want a student to learn? Psychiatry portal – Important to have understanding of core concepts and patients 5

  6. KE4: Target audience • Do you understand your target audience’s needs? • Have you identified their needs? MEDUSA – clinicians in hospitals or/and home 6

  7. KE5: Delivery • How will your students use it? • What is eLearning for? Allergy eLearning – blended and flexible learning 7

  8. KE6: Solution design • What problem do you try to solve? • Can the solution solve your problem? Nutrition – customisable and standardised contents for different health professionals to provide wider access to nutrition education 8

  9. KE7: Requirements • What requirements do you have? • Have you identified them all? Malnutrition – standardised and tailored contents for different professionals in both developing and developed countries 9

  10. KE8: Integration design within a subject • What are the roles of eLearning within the subject curriculum? • How is eLearning associated to the curriculum activities and materials? PiPs – each PiP mapped to a curriculum activity (lecture or tutorial), supporting the whole curriculum in the pre-clinical years 10

  11. KE9: Curriculum integration design • What are the roles of eLearning in the curriculum? • How will eLearning support other teaching and learning activities? VP Year 2 – integrated teaching and learning of basic and clinical sciences 11
