  8. Engineering Competition An Aqua Engineering Competition for High School Students was sponsored by NASA GSFC, Morgan State University, and the Baltimore Museum of Industry. The competition began with the posting of a Round 1 problem in December 2002 and concluded on April 26, 2003, with a final round of competition among the five finalist teams, followed by presentations and an awards ceremony.

The Magic Planet • The Magic Planet is a digital video globe that allows visitors to view and explore dynamic digital images of the Earth, other planets, the Sun, and the Moon. • Numerous EOS satellites, including Aqua, have data displayed on the globe. • The Magic Planet is driven by an interactive touch screen whereby visitors can easily select the data set of their choice.

ViewSpace • A multimedia exhibit program from the Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore that displays an ever changing kaleidoscope of inspiring and educational presentations of the latest and most beautiful images in Space and Earth Science. ViewSpace uses an internet-connected multimedia PC and a large-format display (such as a plasma display panel) to show free-running multimedia presentations that combine: High-resolution images Digital movies and animations Interpretive captions Evocative music

Other Aqua Outreach • Numerous talks at schools, universities, conferences, GSFC (including to various visiting groups), and other locations (e.g., Park Rangers Headquarters in D.C. and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park). • Filling 100s of requests for information, brochures, etc., from students, teachers, reporters, and general public. • Press releases and image releases. • Posters, pins, magnets, and decals.
