Are these equations balanced?

Are these equations balanced?. Remember:. A balanced equation has the same number of atoms of each element on both sides. Ex. If you start a reaction with 2 Hydrogen atoms, you need to end the reaction with 2 Hydrogen atoms. Coefficients.

  1. Are these equations balanced?

  2. Remember: • A balanced equation has the same number of atoms of each element on both sides. • Ex. If you start a reaction with 2 Hydrogen atoms, you need to end the reaction with 2 Hydrogen atoms.

  3. Coefficients • If a coefficient is in front of a molecule (Ex. 2 H2O), then every subscript in that molecule gets multiplied by that coefficient.

  4. 1. Is this equation balanced? • H2 + O2 H2O • Hint: • Count how many Hydrogens you have on the left. Does it match how many you have on the right? • Now do the same for Oxygens. Are there equal numbers of atoms on the left and right?

  5. 2. Is this equation balanced? • CH4 + 2 O2 CO2 + 2 H2O

  6. 3. Is this equation balanced? • Fe + O2 Fe2O3

  7. 4. Is this Equation Balanced? • 2HgO Hg + O2

  8. 5. Is this equation balanced? • Cu + 2 AgNO3 Cu(NO3)2 + 2 Ag

  9. 6. Is this equation balanced? • NH3 + O2 N2 + H2O

  10. 7. Is this equation balanced? • C3H8 + O2 H2O + CO2

  11. 8. Is this equation balanced? • Zn + HCl ZnCl2 + H2

  12. 9. Is this equation balanced? • Ba3N2 + 6 H2O  3 Ba(OH)2 + 2 NH3

  13. 10. Is this equation balanced? • SnO2 + 2 H2 Sn + 2 H2O
