  2. Getting Started with Data Pipeline The next few slides will help your district prepare for the roll out of Data Pipeline. Data Pipeline will go live for the Educator Identifier (EDIS), Record Integration Tracking System (RITS), and Directory on July 1, 2013. All other interchanges will go live on September 1, 2013. Snapshot windows will remain the same but will now be in Data Pipeline. For example, the Staff Interchange will open in Data Pipeline on 9/1/2013 and be ready to receive data, however, the Human Resources annual snapshot will still occur in mid-November.

  3. Getting Started with Data Pipeline • Review the file layouts • Participate in Phase II piloting if possible • Sign up and attend trainings - http://www.cde.state.co.us/rise/ADEReplacement-Trainings.asp • Familiarize yourself with the new roles within Data Pipeline • Review internal processes

  4. File layouts • It is important to know that all existing file layouts for collections are changing. For example, there will no longer be a Student October file layout or a Human Resources file layout. • As file layouts are finalized they are posted on the website • File layouts contain information on: • File format • Business rules • Although CDE has been working with most SIS vendors, it is important that you also reach out to your vendors to let them know of these changes.

  5. Pilot Participation • The best way to get hands on training of Pipeline is to participate in a phase I or phase II pilot. • Phase II pilots will open in late February. The Data Services Unit will be reaching out to districts informing them that Phase II is ready.

  6. Training • As Pipeline pilots each snapshot districts that have agreed to participate in Phase I receive training on that snapshot. • Those trainings are recorded and posted on the website.

  7. New Roles within Data Pipeline • Familiarize yourself with the new system roles within Pipeline. • List the collections, role and people filling the role for your records. Send to your Local Access Manager before Pipeline is in production.

  8. Review Internal Processes • Districts will now be required to submit all demographic data on students in their district as well as all staff data. • Conduct internal discussions with your district and AU’s to determine what processes will need to be modified regarding data submission.
