  2. Objective, determination and provision of meteorological service • The objective of the Aeronautical Meteorological Service shall be to contribute towards the safety regularity and efficiency of international air navigation • In order to meet the objective, the AMS must to establishes and implements a properly organized quality sistem comprising procedures, processes and resourses necessary to provide for the cuality management of de MET INF to be supplied

  3. Information required for analysis and forescasting of the weather conditions for aeronautical purposes. • Surfece and aloft synoptic information • Meteorological Satellites Pictures • Numerical weather predictions • Air Reports (AIREPs) • SIGMET reports and so on

  4. CURRENT RESOURCES • MAIN RESOURSES ARE BEING SUPPLIED FOR : • THE WORLD AREA FORECAST SYSTEM- WAFS THROUGH THE WAFC OF WASHINGTON AND LONDON • THE AMERICAS HAVE AN IMPORTANT SUPPLY OF SATELLITES PICTURES FROM GOES OF NOAA AND NUMERICAL WEATHER PREDCTIONS TO PROVIDE THE METEOROLOGICAL SERVICE.

Aerodrome Meteorological Offices-ICAO-Annex 3 • Shall be adecuate for the provosion of the meteorological service required to satisfy operationals needs: • Prepare and/or obtain forecast and other relevant information for flights which it is concerned; the extend of its responsabilities to prepare forecast shall be related to the local availability and use of en-route and aerodrome forecast material recived from other offices;

  6. Mantain a continuous survey of local meteorological conditions over the aerodromes for which it is designed to prepare forecast. • Provide briefing, consultation and flight documentation to crew members and other flight operations personnel. • Display the available meteorological information.

Meteorological Watch Office -3.5 Anexo 3 - ICAO • Responsibility for providing air traffic services within Flight Information Regions or a Control Area. • A meteorological watch office shall: • To stablish and mantain contact with the VAACs for exchange of information over volcanic activity. • To notify the relevant WAFC immediately of the content of and reason for any amendments it has ussed to the forecast received from the WAFC. • To prepare Significant weather Charts • To prepare WINTEM message and ussue them to users as required

Data from GOES Satellites in CORPAC - PERÚ • In 1974 Perú had being received the first Automatic Pictures Transmition (APT) donated by the WMO-NWS • During the 80 we got the second receiver (WEFAX) • In 1994 we bought a Low Resolution GOES - METEOSAT receiver. • In 1999 we bought a Hight Resolution GOES -GVAR

  10. AERONAUTICAL WEATHER OFFICE AS A RESEARCH SOURCE • TO IMPRUVE THE SAFETY: • WIND SHEAR AND SEVERE TURBULENCE • SEVERE AIRCRAFT ICING • MOUNTAIN WAVES • OTHERS
