  2. More About Verbs • Remember: • -Verbs tell what someone or something does. • -A verb can show something that happens now, in the past, or in the future.

Identify past, present and future verbs. • - Find the verb in these sentences that end with “ed”. • She painted the chair blue. • Dad tossed the ball to the dog. • We listened to the beautiful music. • Mother cooked a turkey for Thanksgiving. • Tommy walked to school. • The bunny hopped around the yard. • Is the verb showing past tense, present tense or future tense.

  4. Identify the verb that shows past, present or future. • She dances around the room. • He practices baseball. • She smiles at her teacher. • He runs fast. • Sandy looks happy. • Randy cuts his paper. • Are these sentences showing past , present or future verb usage?

  5. Identify the verbs as past, present or future tense. • We will attend the magic show. • She will go to dance class. • He will ride his bike to the park. • They will go to the parade. • The class will try to reach their AR goals. • The neighbors will decorate their houses.

  6. Review • Past tense verbs sometimes have “ed” added after the base word. • Present tense verbs usually end with “s”. • Future tense verbs usually follow the word “will”.
