  2. About the Author • Samuel Taylor Coleridge was born on October 21, 1772 and died on July 25, 1834. He was an English poet, a literary critic and philosopher. Him and his friend William Wordsworth, were the founders of the Romantic Movement in England.

  3. More about the Author • Coleridge’s suffered from anxiety and depression. Some say that he also suffered from bipolar disorder though this has never been identified. He also suffered from poor health that may have stemmed from rheumatic fever and other childhood illnesses. He was treated for these illnesses with laudanum, which he then developed a lifelong opium addiction.

  4. The Ancient Mariner stopped one of the men going to a wedding feast to tell him his story.

  5. A storm had made the ship sail towards the South Pole, but once the albatross showed up, "a good south wind sprung up behind".

  6. The albatross followed the ship wherever it sailed.

  7. Quote “With my cross-bow I shot the ALBATROSS”

  8. The Mariner's shipmates dropped down dead one by one. Life-in-Death won the Ancient Mariner with the roll of a dice, and a curse is cast upon the crew.

  9. The pilot, the pilot's boy, and the Hermit all came to rescue the Mariner

  10. Under the water it rumbled on Still louder and more dread It reach'd the ship, it split the bay The ship went down like lead" This happens almost right after the Mariner is rescued.
