Introduction • ITU + ATU organized back-to-back meetings for WTSA 12 / WCIT12 Preparations. • 1st African Region/Group meeting; Cairo, Egypt 14th – 17th November 2011; • 2nd African Region/Group Meeting; Durban, South Africa 21-24 May 2012 • 3rd African Region/Group Meeting; Accra, Ghana 25-26 September 2012

ITU-T Proposed Structure in 2012 (OK) • 10 study groups 2,3,5, 9,11,12,13, 15,16 &17 • 6 focus groups (3 established at Jan 2012 TSAG Confirmed in 2- 4 July 2012 Meetings, • 9 Joint Coordination Activities • 2 Global Standards Initiatives (IPTV, IoT) • 250 Standards/year • 250 Rapporteurs • 1000 Editors

Cote dIvoire: Res. 11, 20, 22, 32, 35, 64, 68, 70, 72. 73; combine 26 with 54 also Ghana and Egypt 4. Cameroun: Res 44 5. Egypt Res. 76: Testing 6. Sudan: Res. 69: non-discriminatory access

  9. Africa Common Proposals to WTSA 12 New Res. Proposed. 1. Côte d’Ivoire: Collaboration- Telecom Regional organizations with ITU Regional Bureaus Combined 26&54, Ghana + Egypt 2. Uganda: ITU Make Implementation Guidelines to Resolutions.

  11. Africa at WTSA 12, Dubai,UAE. Leadership at WTSA 12 South Africa presided over meetings of the African Region/Group during the WTSA-12 Tanzania served as Vice Chair to the WTSA – 12.

Conclusions and Recommendations • Many if not all Africa Common Proposals were adopted by WTSA 12 • Africa was united on interests and collaborated well with other regional groups • It is time for Study Groups and new mgt. to study issues of interest • Submitting Written Contributions is recommended to further work of SGs. • Administrations are urged to support the appointed Chairs and Vice chairs • Appointed Chairs and Vice chairs to live to the Expectations • ITU to Implement Resolutions of WTSA 12
