What they ate and what tools did they use

  • The Pomo Indians gathered nuts , berries , and seeds from plants and trees. They hunted and fished for trout , moose and deer for the winter.

  • They used a two pronged speared harpoons as weapons for hunting salmon when they went up the stream.

About the people and cultures

  • The Pomo Indians are a linguistic branch of the Native Americans of North California. Linguistic means their culture is linked to locations , language and elements of their heritage. They lived in small communities which made it easy for them to trade clothes or food with each other.

  • One important fact about the Pomo Indians is that they dance over their feasts when they were done to worship the sprits. For entertainment they made beautiful jewelry and baskets .

How The sun and moon came to life

To sum up the story the coyote and hawk were trying to find the light. They weeded out some toile reeds and made a ball out of them. They put both balls on fire so that hawk would fly around the world everyday so people could have light. I infer that they mostly believed in spirits and animals from this story.

  • In the 1808 Russians began to arrive at bodega bay to trade with people around the place . The Russians had a good relationship with the Pomo Indians. The Russians traded rice , corn , wheat , and metals. Then one day the Russians turned their backs on the Indians and stole their children. Then they made a sport out of the Pomo Indians so when they saw a Pomo Indians They would shoot the inanest people and hang them on their wall.

  • The government toke 100,000,000 acres of the Pomo Indians land and they got 100 acres of their land.
