  2. Location • Located in Morris County New Jersey • County seat of Morris County • Northern New Jersey ( about 30 miles outside New York City) • Exit 35 off of 287 south & north, Exit 42 off of 80 East and West, Exit 142 off the parkway, Exit 1 of off 24. Morristown

  3. Things to Do • Concerts (at The Community Theatre), dance, plays, movies. • Historic Ford Mansion – Washington’s Headquarters. • Tons of shopping on South street, along with stores circled around the green. • Multiple exercise facilities. • Over 20 restaurants to choose from!

  5. History • Morris County Court House – built between 1826 & 1827. Designed by two local architects, one of the most important buildings in Morristown. • Maculloch Hall – Completed in 1819, family part of the mining industry. Passed down through 5 Muculloch generations. Now open to the public to show off the English & American decorative arts. • The General Porter House - This Victorian house was built between 1880 and 1890 for General Fitz John Porter. General Porter was educated at West Point, where he served under Robert E. Lee. A Major General at the battle of Bull Run, he was court marshalled for refusing to obey commands.
