ICT department job structure I’m the Network Administrator I’m the ICT manager I’m the Database Administrator I’m the Operations Manager I’m the Business Analyst I’m the System Development Manager I’m the Programmer I’m the File Librarian I’m the Computer Technician I’m the Systems Analyst I’m the Data Entry Operator

  6. I.C.T. Manager I’m the top man here, I run the show. I’m responsible for managing, planning, coordinating and staffing the I.C.T. department. I have many years working experience. I have a degree (BSc) in Computer Science and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA).

  7. Database Administrator I normally have very important job in any organization I’m totally responsible for the management and administration of the company’s database containing vital data. I have many years working experience. I have a degree (BSc) in Computer Science and I have undergone several training courses e.g. in Oracle databases etc

  8. Network Administrator In many smaller companies I may be in charge of the ICT department I’m responsible for keeping this computer network up and running. I create, secure and administer networks. I have many years working experience. I have a degree (BSc) in Computer Science and I have undergone several certification courses e.g. MCSE, MCSA

  9. Systems Development Manager Not all companies have persons like me on board. I’m responsible for managing all those people responsible for developing systems within the company. I have many years working experience. I have a degree (BSc) in Information Systems and I have undergone several certification courses in system development.

  10. Business Analyst Many very large businesses need someone like me. I’m responsible for the business aspect of technology. My expert knowledge of business is necessary for the running of the company. I have many years working experience. I have a degree (BSc) in Information Systems and Business and a MBA.

  11. Operations Manager Many smaller companies do not have people like me. I’m in charge of the daily running of the I.C.T.. Department. I interface regularly with the I.C.T. manager. I allocate duties to staff, supervise the use of the equipment etc. I have many years working experience. I have a degree (BSc) in Information Systems.

Systems Analyst People like me are hired only in companies that develop new computer software systems We develop systems as solutions to problems within the organisation or to solve problems encountered by other companies. We work in teams and adhere to a tight budget. I have a degree (BSc) in Information Systems.

Programmer People like me are hired only in companies that develop new computer software systems I write computer programs all day long, if I’m not working on a new program, I’m making changes to an old one. Many programs are coded from algorithms created by the Systems Analyst. I have a degree (BSc) in Computer Science and self taught in many programming languages.

  14. Computer Technician I’m the skilful Computer Technician, most ICT departments must hire me. I perform all the technical hands-on jobs in the I.C.T. Department. I make sure all the computer equipment is working. I work under control of the Operations Manager or Network Administrator. I have technical certificates in A+ and Network +.

  15. Data Entry Operator I’m the hard working Data Entry Operator. I stare at this screen practically all day long, I don’t have to move from my seat. I enter data from documents into the computer system. I have O’Level passes and I’m computer literate.

  16. File Librarian I’m the well organised File Librarian. I ensure that all the company’s data files and software are well catalogued and in perfect order. I always ensure that the storage media is in tact. I have O’Level passes and I’m computer literate.
