History • 1911 - Founded by the University of Illinois Education Club • 1925 - The Laureate Chapter was created to recognize exceptional living educators • John Dewey was the first member • Other members include Jean Piaget, Howard Gardner, Eleanor Roosevelt, Alfie Kohn, Nel Noddings, and Albert Einstein

  6. What is Kappa Delta Pi? History • 1981 - First international chapter installed in Canada • 2004 - First Community College Chapter installed • 2006 - 550+ active chapters around the world at universities/colleges, in community Professional Chapters, and at public schools
