  2. My unit is on a story in the Reading Street series called The Stranger by Chris Van Allsburg

  3. I used Inspiration software to organize my unit

  4. I organized my unit by the areas we cover in the Reading Street Series Spelling Fluency Vocabulary Comprehension Grammar Writing

  5. I created a parent newsletter to establish a connection between school and home.

  6. I found a technology for each area except fluency. I would, in the future, create a graph to collect fluency rates or have my students create a podcast so they could listen to themselves reading.

  7. I started with a Voki to introduce the unit to my students.

  8. We have a question of the day for each unit. Our story this week is about seasons. I created an excel file and asked the students to let me know what their favorite season is.

  9. The following Animoto introduces the vocabulary for the week.

  10. For grammar, I created one of my three lesson plans and a screencast to show the students how to play a game.

  11. We cover writing each week and I created my second lesson plan using the Trading Card Creator

  12. Inevitably one student always misses the spelling test so I created a spelling test using Podcast.

  13. My final lesson plan was for the reading comprehension skill for the unit which is cause and effect. I first present the unit using a PowerPoint presentation

  14. During the lesson the students will use Comic Creator to make a comic strip showing cause and effect.
