Fun Facts: • It is America’s third largest city. • The Twinkie was invented in Chicago in 1930. • The Chicago River is the only river in the world that flows backwards. • Things to do: • Lincoln Park Zoo • Millennium Park • Navy Pier • We stopped at McDonald’s for lunch and ate at Giordano's Pizza for dinner. Afterwards we went to Navy Pier and I bought a souvenir t-shirt. First stop, Chicago!

Yellowstone National Park • Fun Facts: • The world’s first national park. • It includes an active volcano. • The park experiences 1,000-3,000 earthquakes a year. • Things to do: • See the Grand Canyon of the park. • Experience geyser Old Faithful. • See the Yellowstone Lake. I took a flight from Chicago to Wyoming. I went to Yellowstone National Park and took in the scenery. I bought lunch from a food stand in a local town and I ate at Jackson Hole Restaurant and I ate a whole rack of lamb. I bought a souvenir penny and stayed the night in a local hotel to rest.

Washington D.C. • Fun Facts: • Named after George Washington and Christopher Columbus. • The official motto is Justia Omnibus (Justice for All). • The official flower is the American Beauty Rose. • Things to do: • Shop at the National Mall. • Go to the many monuments, such as the Lincoln Memorial. • Go and experience the Holocaust museum. My flight from Wyoming was a bit rough. I arrived and was famished, so I decided to eat some fast food. I went and visited the Holocaust museum and also saw most of the statues and memorials this great place had to offer. After that I went to the restaurant Nora. I had a nice veal dinner and then found a Holiday Inn that had an open room.

Orlando, Florida • Fun Facts: • 2nd most popular travel destination. • It is nicknamed “The City Beautiful”. • More than 2 million visitors per year are international, rather from the states. • Things to do: • Visit Walt Disney World. • Relax on the beach. • Go to Universal Studios. The flight was uncomfortably packed. I arrived and immediately went to Walt Disney for fun in the sun. I ate lunch at the park from the many vendors and enjoyed the fun rides that they provided. I also bought a Mickey Mouse t-shirt! I did not want to leave, so I stayed for the rest of the day, ate dinner there, and had a very restful night at a hotel located inside the park.

Honolulu, Hawaii • Fun Facts: • It is the most isolated population center on Earth. • It is the widest state in the United States. • Only state who's land is increasing. • Things to do: • Lay out on the Waikiki beach. • Visit the USS Arizona memorial. • Visit the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. I arrived in Honolulu and was amazed by the scenery. I went on a sightseeing trip to climb up the active volcano. I ate a fast food lunch and ate at the restaurant named “Hula Grill Waikiki.” I found a local resort to rest and I also bought a miniature dancing hula girl for my car in their gift shop.

Nome, Alaska • Fun Facts: • There are areas that get 24 hours of daylight and 24 hours of night. • There are nearly 3 million lakes in Alaska. • Nome is famous for “alien abductions.” • Things to do: • You can see the Northern Lights. • Go skiing. • Go ice fishing. It was very cold as I got off the plane, being used to the Hawaiian climate. I visited a few local places that were known for “alien” visitation. I ate lunch at a place called “Polar Café” and decided to try my luck skiing. I later ate at Fat Freddie's Restaurant and decided it was time to call it a day. I stayed in the “Nome Nugget Inn.”

New York • Fun Facts: • New York has 4,000 street food vendors. • The state fruit is an apple. • 100 million Chinese food cartons are used annually in New York City. • Things to do: • Go and visit Central Park. • Go to see the “Film Forum.” • Visit the Empire State Building. I walked through the New York streets and took in the sights. I bought a few hot dogs forlunch from the street vendors. I visited the Empire State building and saw the city froma different perspective. It was absolutely amazing. I decided to try Grimaldi'sPizzeria andwas very pleased with the service. The pizzeria was selling shirts, and I wanted a souvenir. To save money I stayed in a 2-star hotel for the night.

Arizona • Fun Facts: • Arizona has 3,928 mountain peaks and summits. • Arizona is the 6th largest state. • Arizona became the 48th state on February 14, 1912. • Things to do: • Visit the Grand Canyon. • Go biking through Arizona’s breathtaking landscape. • Relax in some of their world class spas. Arizona has always intrigued me, so I decided that was my next stop. I decided to go and visit the Grand Canyon, which made me a little sick because I am afraid of heights. I ate at “El Tovar” for lunch and then decided it was time to relax, so I tried out one of the local spa’s. I then ate dinner at the “Bright Angel Restaurant” which wasn’t really to my liking. I needed rest, so I stayed in a local Comfort Inn which also had a crushed penny machine, so I also bought one of those.

Colorado • Fun Facts: • Colorado means "colored red". • Colorado is part of the famous four corners. • The world's largest flattop mountain is in Colorado. • Things to do: • Visit the Colorado Railroad Museum. • Experience the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. • Visit the world’s highest suspension bridge, Royal Gorge Bridge I decided to drive to Colorado, seeing as how it was pretty close to Arizona. I drove across the Royal Gorge Bridge which was terrifying to say the least. I got some fast food for lunch and then went to visit my cousin who resides here. He took me on a tour and we also visited the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. His mother cooked me dinner and I stayed the night with my cousin.

California • Fun Facts: • California is bigger than eighty-five of the smallest nations in the world. • California has the world’s tallest tree. • Los Angeles lays claim to the world's largest outdoor amphitheater, the Hollywood Bowl. • Things to do: • Visit the Museum of Neon Art or the Sci-fi Monster Museum • Ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. • Go and see the famous prison, Alcatraz. I arrived in California by car, and it is true what they say, you see celebrities everywhere! I went to the Sci-fi Monster Museum because I am really into those kind of things. I got lunch from a street vendor and then took a tour of the prison Alcatraz. I ate dinner at the French Laundry Restaurant and stayed the night at the Holiday Inn. They had a great t-shirt for sale in the gift shop, so I bought that before my departure.

Texas • Fun Facts: • The Texas bird is the Mockingbird. • You could fit 220 Rhode Islands in Texas. • The world’s first rodeo was held in Pecos, Texas. • Things to do: • Visit the Alamo. • Experience the Texas State Aquarium. • Ride the Vanishing Texas River Cruise I drove from California to Texas because I felt that I needed to stop flying so much. I was unusually hungry, so I stopped at “Chez Zee”. I finished my meal and saw an advertisement for the Texas State Aquarium. I stayed there for quite sometime and found a restaurant within the aquarium to eat, which was cool because you could see all of the fish while you ate, and I also bought a nice coffee mug. I decided to take a tour of the Alamo, which was very tiring so I stayed the night in “Hotel Derek.”

Utah • Fun Facts: • The state name comes from the Ute tribe, meaning “people of the mountains.” • The state nickname is “The Beehive State” • Utah has 43 state parks. • Things to do: • Go to the Salt Lake Temple. • Listen to the Tabernacle Organ Recitals. • Visit the Mill Creek Canyon. I drove to Utah and it was a very gorgeous place. I visited the Mill Creek Canyon to really take in the scenery. Afterwards I felt a bit lazy, so I just picked up some fast food. After I ate I decided to go and listen to the Tabernacle Organ Recitals to hear some quality music. After the 3 hour long sessions I felt hungry again, so I ate at the famous “Red Iguana”. I was exhausted from the day, so I stayed in the “Crystal Inn” for the night.

Pennsylvania • Fun Facts: • The state insect is the firefly. • Pennsylvania has over 50 natural lakes. • The state beverage is milk. • Things to do: • Watch a baseball game at PNC Park. • Visit the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. • Watch a football game at Heinz field. Wanting to save some money and remembering I have family in Pennsylvania, I decided to go there. My cousins and I went to a baseball game at PNC Park and I caught a fly baseball! I ate some food from the park and went back to my cousins house to rest and talk to family. We later went to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and experienced history. We ate dinner at their house and I slept there as well.

  15. Ohio • Fun Facts: • Ohio is also known as the Buckeye State. • 7 U.S. presidents were born in Ohio. • The official state rock song is “Hang On Snoopy.” • Things to do: • Visit Cleveland and see the Cleveland Cavaliers play. • Visit Sandusky to go to Cedar Point. • Go to Kalahari, the world’s biggest indoor water park. Like they always say, there really is no place like home! I wanted to visit Ohio because although I’ve lived here all my life, I’ve never really been throughout Ohio. I drove here from Pennsylvania and immediately went to Cedar Point in Sandusky. I ate lunch there and rode the amazing rides they had to offer. Just down the road I visited Kalahari and got a hotel room there. The waterpark was amazing! I ordered a pizza and had it delivered to my room. It was amazing! I also bought a t-shirt from each park to cherish these memories forever.

  16. After 14 days of traveling across America I realize that it has a lot to offer, but I also realized that there is no place better than your home! Home, Sweet home!
