FACS TRENDS • Farm to School / Farm to Table - Food Day • Career Focus - FACS realted career trends such as fashion, food, and child development (Career Pathways) • CAD (Computer Aided Design) • PLTW (Project Lead the Way) and STEM (Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) • Pro Start - Restaurant and Food Service prep

TECHNOLOGY IMPLEMENTATION TIPS • Plan ahead and get to know the technology before teaching or presenting • Remember free today...gone tomorrow • Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox tend to be the most user friendly browsers • Be flexible and have a back-up plan • Always look for the "educational" version of applications. They often provide free additional storage or features. • Find ways to promote troubleshooting and problem solving by students and co-workers

  7. CREATE "PINTERESTING" LESSONS • Use Pinterest site or app to generate "real world" interest in your lessons or topics • Also a great way to spread the word about FACS!

  8. TAKE OUT YOUR CELL PHONES • Use Poll Everywhere to create class polls to be done via text messages...for FREE!

  9. EXCELLENT FACS RESOURCES • MAFCS & AAFCS websites provide wonderful professional resources for FACS
