  1. Three Reasons to Become a Teacher : David Schillo

  2. David Schillo is an eighth grade science teacher at Dickson County Middle School. Before starting his career as a teacher, he served the United States Army as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Officer. He earned a master’s degree in kinesiology as well.

  3. David Schillo states that he has “experience developing customized fitness programs for pre-adolescent to teen clients with a wide range of physical and mental challenges.” He enjoys working with his students and helping them grow.

  4. One reason to become a teacher is to provide young people with education. Teachers have the opportunity to build creative lesson plans that can help their students understand a wide range of concepts.

  5. Another reason to build a career as an educator is to create a better educational system. Teachers and other educational professionals can work within the school system to improve lesson plans and activities. Teachers can provide feedback on curricula and the effectiveness of various lesson plans.

  6. A third reason to study education is to help young people succeed. Teachers can encourage their students to study and pursue their goals. Some students may be discouraged by a developmental disability. Other students may struggle with their studies.

  7. Educators can work with their students to overcome these issues. David Schillo has a background in kinesiology and education and is dedicated to helping his students learn about science as well as fitness. He is training for a marathon during his free time as well.
