I understand its hard to follow your dreams when people doubt you.Here is the thing, first, if you are worried about what anyone thinks about you, it’s going to play against you. And I think its primarily because you are playing two roles, the role people want you to be, and the role you believe in or actually are.
Its hard, but you need to put aside everyone’s opinion of you to the side and follow your dreams anyways. You can still be friends with them, but you need to keep them at a mental distance.
Another thing, always think practical. Dreams are important and you should always do what you are passionate about but at the same time you have bills to pay and other responsibilities. You need to meet these needs at a minimum so plan accordingly. No one is guaranteed success at anything so do something that you care enough about that even if you fail, you would still be happy with the experience. Build on your skills and knowledge and you will find other opportunities.
