  1. How to Set up Google Authenticator with 2-Step Verification? With Google Authenticator, you can prevent the theft of your account passwords. It's free, easy, and can be used with two-factor authentication (2FA) on services like Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Google Authenticator (iOS/Android) generates a random code to verify your identity when you log in to various services. So, here is how to verify Google authenticator. You can receive the code on your phone via text message every time, but the app provides an additional layer of security. Steps to Set up Google Authenticator A social engineering attack against your phone company is possible using SMS- based 2FA, but the Google Authenticator app eradicates the possibility of an SMS- based attack by using algorithms to generate codes on your phone. The first move is to click on the 'Account' tab, located at the top of the page, then to select 'Profile' and then 'Account Settings.' Then, select the 'Two-Step Verification' option under 'Security' in the left column. The Two-Step Verification page will prompt you to click on the 'Setup Authenticator App' after entering the name for your device and click on the 'Add Credential.' After picking a name, you will see a QR Code. You can set up an account by opening the app on your mobile device and selecting the 'Settings' option in the upper right.

  2. Now, to scan the QR Code, go to the option of 'Scan a Bar Code' and then scan the 'QR Code' in your 'Name.com' account. After scanning the QR code, the main Google Authenticator app will appear with Name.com in the list of codes. Locate Name.com and type the six-digit verification code into Name.com. Click Verify Code to complete the process. The authenticator will display a green notification when it has been being activated. Moreover, you can also move Google authenticator new phone without old phone by following the same steps above. Creating backup codes or adding your phone for SMS backups (SMS) is strongly recommended in the event that your Google authenticator device is lost or reset. Every time you log in to the account you've connected with Google Authenticator, you will be asked to enter a six-digit verification code. Just open the Google Authenticator app, generating the new, randomized code. Read also - Google Virus Warning on Android, Google Chrome not working after update .
