DeskTop Publishing a piece of software that allows you to create different types of publications. Name 3 different types of Publications that can be created in Publisher? Examples: Newspaper, Leaflet, Poster, Newsletter, Card, Brochure, Flyer, etc

(select a celebrity from your PowerPoint Presentation ) OR • Design a Fundraiser Brochure to help raise fund for KTC Summer Fair • Audience type – Pupils and Parents. • Purpose: To advertise a celebrity appearance & raising funds for KTC Summer Fair. Money raise will go towards a local Homeless charity. Think about the page layout: Add appropriate text and graphics to make your work stands out. Save it as: flyer or brochure in the correct folder. (This will be done over 2 lessons) Remember to add time, date, venue to your publication

  6. Desktop Publisher • DTP is used to build professional looking pages. It’s used to produce publications such as newspaper, magazines, books, cards, leaflets etc. • DTP pages are built on series of Frames – text frame contains text, graphics frames contains images etc • DTP is like a Notice board – you move about different bits of information until you are happy with the overall layout. • DTP Main benefits • Create professional looking documents – even with inexpensive DTP packages. • DTP layout of document can be change more easily than for example WORD. • It’s easy to control what goes on each page Remember: DTP software has loads of different templates, they can save times but if you are not careful most documents can end up looking the same. The Golden Rule of good page design – is to think about the audience type and keep it simple.
