  2. There are 3 types of Clouds • PUBLIC CLOUD • PRIVATE CLOUD • HYBRID CLOUD

Public Cloud • Forerunner of all cloud computing technology and is accessible to the general public • Provided for free • Used for simple computing tasks & data storage • Types of services in private cloud can be: • Document Creation, • Sharing and Collaboration, • Data storage Note:It is mostly used by individuals, although companies can make use of the cloud storage options that are provided.

Private Cloud • Access to these clouds is restricted • One must subscribe to the service in order to be able to use • User needs to pay a monthly or yearly subscription fee • Are better secured and the user is able to customize the kind of service • Awider range of services from storage to software platforms, infrastructure, and even security services • More reliable Note: The advantage of these clouds is that they are better secured

  5. Hybrid Cloud • Created by linking private and public clouds together • Commonly used by companies who want to access resources on public clouds while also keeping the main part of the cloud infrastructure private. • This enables the business to share part of its resources and data with other companies • Advantage of enabling the business to scale up cloud access by using public resources Note: It can save you quite a bit of money than just scaling up their private resources.
