  3. COMMUNIST AND POST-COMMUNIST: CHARACTERISTICS • POLITICAL: • Communist: one-party, authoritarian regime. • Post-communist: authoritarian, democratic, or somewhere in between. • ECONOMIC: • Communist: eliminate economic inequality. • Post-communist: transforming to incorporate capitalism.
