  2. 3 Different Methods of Tile & Grout Cleaning The tiled floor is easy to mop and is easy to shine. With a quick mop dipped in the floor cleaner, the tiles can start to shine like new. But, the grout lines between the grout are not that easy or sparkling. Thanks to the porous and absorbing material of grout, it can be easily stained and can also attract dirt in its tiny pores. So, the normal cleaning techniques may not work on the grout, and you will have to extend special efforts to get it cleaned. If the grout lines are damaged, and mold is growing in the holes, it is better to find a professional Grout Cleaning Saratogaservices with special equipment, cleaners, and expertise. But, if the grout is dimmed by dirt and stains, you can do the job yourself. Here are the three different methods you can choose to clean the grout lines and make them sparkle again.

  3. Pre-Cleaning: Before you get to the job, it is time to prepare the floor for cleaning. First, you can clean the tiles and grout with a mop soaked in hot water to wipe the extra dirt and particles. When you clean the floor, you will know the condition of the grout. It will also clear any loose grout off the floor. Use Warm Water: It is always good to start with the mildest and the most invasive methods. Use warm water spray on the grout line and let it soak for a while. After that, use a hard-bristled brush to clean the grout in the circular motion. Make sure that you do not use any metal scrapper because it can damage the grout. Most likely, your grout will be cleaned, and the whole floor will give a smooth look. If not, let’s move to the next method.

  4. Using Baking Powder-Vinegar Mixture: The second method is a homemade remedy of the dirty grout lines. In this method, a paste of baking soda is prepared with 3 parts baking soda and 1 part water and it is applied to the grout lines. You can apply the paste with finger or with a brush. For preventing itching or allergy, it is recommended to wear gloves before touching the paste. Once, the paste is applied, you can prepare the mixture of 1:1 vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray the liquid on baking soda mixture and the chemical reaction will start immediately. The mixture will start to bubble indicating a chemical reaction between baking soda and vinegar. After the bubbling stops, you can scrub the grout lines with a hard-bristled brush and clean the floor with a mop.

  5. Using Oxygenated Bleach: The third method is to use oxygenated bleach powder to clean the grout lines. It is a relatively invasive method of Tile & Grout Cleaning. In some cases, the bleach causes the discoloration of grout lines. Prepare cleaner with 2 cup hot water and 2 teaspoons oxygenated bleach powder. Thoroughly dissolve the powder to ensure consistent results and prepare the mixture at the time of application. Spray the mixture on the grout lines, completely wetting them. After that, use a nylon bristled brush to scrub the lines back and forth and mop the floor. Enjoy your sparkling, clean floor!
