Any of these events could require Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activation and potentially the DENR DRC


Eoc activation
EOC Activation

  • Level 4- within capabilities of local governments

  • Level 3- likely requires assistance of State Agencies

  • Level 2- large scale, potential federal assistance. Fully activated, 24hr SERT

  • Level 1- Continued involvement after event, FEMA team sent to the state

  • Note: Governor’s policy last year was to prepare for an event at a scale higher than predicted.

Discretion and Approval of the Secretary and/or Chief Deputy Secretary

  • Minimum: Director of Communications and DRC Director. Situation Reports from appropriate Divisions

  • Maximum: Generally at EOC Levels 1 & 2

    • Full scale operations
