  1. The Pain of LOSS:A Good Deposit for an Empty Heart I Samuel 30:1-8 May 18&19, 2013

  2. How do we seek out breakthrough, take hold of strength, stand above obstacles victoriouslyin the midst of PAIN? "For You, O Lord, have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.“- Psalm 16:8

  3. 1) Allow Your Heart to be EMPTIED. "So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep.” - I Samuel 30:4

  4. LETGOof the PAIN. "In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and He answered by setting me free.” - Psalm 118:5

  5. By letting out the pain of loss, we allow the letting inof God's presence and people to bring care and support. When this happens there is a letting in of strength, of healing, of perspective, and of joy.

  6. 2) Allow Your Heart to be REFRESHED. "David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.” - I Samuel 30:6

  7. LEAN on God's PRESENCE. "I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being."- Ephesians 3:16

  8. When we come to the Lord in these seasons of loss we will find a rich deposit that dwells within us. "But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I go away. Unless I go away the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.”- John 16:7

  9. There is just as much of a potent and poignant reality to take hold of, to be filled with, and to be overjoyed by.

  10. 3) Allow Your Heart to be GUIDED. "And David inquired of the Lord, 'Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?' 'Pursue them, ' the Lord answered. 'You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue."- I Samuel 30:8

  11. LOOK to God's PATHWAY. "My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your Word.” - Psalm 119:28

  12. Dear ones, our loss has not left us without JOY, has not left us without GIFTS, and has not left us without POWER. There is more that we have today still!
