Objectives of the project • Trasformation of a former coal mine plant into a zone of education and entrepreneurship • Establishing of a business incubator and investment zone for creating favourable conditions for SME development • Creation of a higher education infrastructure (campus) – for the Gliwice High School of Entrepreneurship

Brief history of the project • June 2003 – signing of the Financing Memorandum • 23.11.2004 – singing of an agreement with the Contract Engineer • 28.12.2004 – commencement of a public procurement procedure for selecting the Contractor • 19.05.2005 – signing of the contract with the Contractor • 31.05.2005 – transferring of the site to the Contractor • 01.06.2005 – commencement of works

Expected results of the project • 15,86 ha of reclaimed land: • 5,75 ha entreprenueurship and education zone • 10,11 ha inestment zone • 4 structures adapted to their new functions of net area totalling to 20 983m2 (business incubator: 9 164m2, university 11 819 m2) • 20 – 50 SMEs in the investment zone in 2 years after completion of the project • 1510 – 1750 new employment places • 2350 students using educational infrastructure in 2 years after completion of the project
