  1. Connecting to the Internet Configuring Your Dial-up Networking

  2. This tutorial demonstrates one of a few different ways that you can set up a dial-up connection. When you set up your first connection you may want to use the Connection Wizard. However, you can set up your configurations to connect to the Internet by using the Dial-up Networking. This tutorial uses that method.

  3. Getting Started To set up your computer so that you can connect to the Internet using a phone line, you need to configure your dial-up networking. Double click on the “MyComputer” icon to get started.

  4. Double click on the “Make a New Connection” icon.

  5. A dialog box will appear. Type in the name of the computer you are dialing. Example: AOL, Remc, and Voyager.

  6. Enter the phone number to the computer that you want to call.
